Look Mama, I have become a hippie.
I am of Generation-X. Most of my life I have looked upon the world with great irony and sarcasm, and a good amount of distance. Wars, and other world events have in general never upset me enough to do anything about them. At least not more than a little bit of bitching and moaning about the stupidity of the human race.
But the events leading up to a war in Iraq has made me have to take a stand, and rise up for what I believe. To me, launching a war against Iraq would be doing the people of the world great injustice. And it could very well become the start of another world war. A war that would include religion against religion as well as nation against nation. And for what cause?
To me, and countless others - the war seems to be more about vengance and money than about the general security of the world, or for that matter - for the security of the United States of America.
That is the reason for this protest. We are saying NO WAR ON IRAQ, and letting the web go black on the 15th of february 2003.
